It can be hard for any parent to send their kid away to summer sleepover camp for the first time but for parents of kids with allergies and asthma, there’s the added stress of worrying if their kids will do okay healthwise.
CPHF is proud to help sponsor Peninsula Puffers Asthma Camp, a one week summer camp program held in conjunction with Camp Fire USA. Held in Cooper Landing Alaska, children ages 7 -14 with asthma and food allergies spend the week enjoying camp activities while learning about their asthma & allergies in daily lesions with our medical staff. Educational topics include pathophysiology, management, usage of asthma & allergy tools, medications awareness and self awareness. Campers participate in a total of 1 ½ hours of education per camp day. Peninsula Puffers had medical staff on site 24 hours a day for the duration of camp.
