After moving to Alaska in 1968, Pat worked as manager for three branches of the National Bank of Alaska in Soldotna, Petersburg and Fairbanks. While in Fairbanks, he was also in charge of Business Development of the Northern Region of Alaska. Other professional endeavors have included President and CEP of Cowan & Cowan Insurance Agency, Alaska Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers, South Central Insurance, until finally becoming Chief Executive Officer of Birch Ridge Golf Course, the first regulation, privately owned golf course in Alaska that he and his wife Myrna own and operate together.
Pat’s current and past community service and business affiliations include past member of the Soldotna Planning and Zoning Committee, Soldotna City Council member, President of the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, President of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, member of the Wells Fargo (formerly NBA) Soldotna Branch Advisory Board, Commissioner of the Kenai Peninsula Resource Development Commission, Commissioner of the State of Alaska Agricultural Revolving Loan Fund Board, member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish council (past president), member of the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Advisory Board, Director of the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District, member of the Homer Electric Association Board of Directors, member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Finance Committee, member of the Governor’s Task Force to save Agrium before joining the CPHF Board in 2007.
